What a Difference a Day Makes!

Carp fishing is a funny old sport , I was in two minds this morning as to whether to pack up from latest session or stay out in what for Spain is cold conditions, I have been on the Bank for a week and a half and seen plenty of action but the bigger fish were not playing ball,39lbs 8oz was biggest. I thought to myself let's see what happens during the day if nothing, I will pack and up for 3, and we'll at 12 I had a double take I was just netting a 20lber cursing at the carp gods for another small one, I asked them where the larger ones and within seconds my other rod screamed off, I returned the pasty and played an obviously larger fish, it was whole different fight slow and dogged when it got close it either wanted the bamboo to left or the bridge,I was all over swim lol. Eventually, I tamed it and landed a fish twice the size of the previous I was well happy, on the scales she went 43lbs. All this was caught live on camera from the first take to netting the second, the second double take caught on camera during this session, will make an excellent YouTube video. Anyhow whilst on Bank I have been reflecting on what has been a tough year for our family and fishing being not as good as previous years due to all the rain we have had, which in fairness we needed, I have found it mentally tough and found myself in a shell I need to break out of, which these fish are helping, I have not been myself this year and I hope to recapture some mojo again with a good winter campaign, day 1 so far has got me smiling again
